Cíntia Goldani, a renowned Brazilian bodybuilder, has tragically passed away at the age of 36 due to a pulmonary embolism just days before she was scheduled to compete in a top-level competition. Hailing from Rio Grande do Sul, Cíntia’s sudden death has left the bodybuilding community in mourning.

The Musclecontest Brasil event organizers confirmed Cíntia’s passing in a heartfelt statement: “With great pain and sadness, we hereby inform you of the death of Professional Figure Athlete Cíntia Goldani due to complications from pneumonia. Cíntia was an angel in human form. God needed reinforcement in heaven. She will never be forgotten by the MuscleContest family.”

Cíntia turned professional in 2021 and reached national levels the following year. She was poised to compete in one of Brazil’s most prestigious bodybuilding competitions next month. Despite her recent bout with pneumonia, she continued to inspire and motivate her followers with her dedication and spirit.

Her partner and fellow bodybuilder, Gustavo Cesar, shared a poignant tribute on social media, accompanied by a photo of Cíntia standing in front of a promotional poster. He wrote, “This is the last photo I have of you on my phone, and this is how I want to remember you forever! Happy, smiling, and with that wonderful energy, you were the best human being I have ever met in the world! I wish I could thank you for everything you’ve done for me, but I will thank you every day when I see the sunset… Thank you, Cíntia. You are made of pure, true love, and God wanted you closer to Him and away from this world’s evil. I wanted to be there with you, being happy as we always were.”

Cíntia was well-loved and admired in the bodybuilding community. Her Instagram page, followed by over 21,000 people, was filled with motivational posts and reels that showcased her dedication to the sport and her positive outlook on life. Her final Instagram post on June 17th read: “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act, but a habit.”

The news of her death has prompted an outpouring of tributes from fans and fellow athletes. Professor David Stewart, a fellow bodybuilder, wrote on Instagram, “It’s more than 20 years of friendship… unbelievable. May God receive you in the best form […] just like you’d like to be welcomed on stages.. Where you shone and the whole world outside..”

Another fan, Andrew Felipe, commented under her most recent post, “Rest in peace… You will always be an inspiration.”

Sil Gonzales also shared a touching message: “I’m here in disbelief. You were a cheerful, determined person, had no bad weather. I’ll never forget how we met. Life is short, and in the blink of an eye, it all ends. May you find the peace you so deserve. I am sure it will be the brightest star.”

Cíntia was set to compete in the Figure category of the Musclecontest Brazil competition in Curitiba on July 20. In addition to her competitive career, she worked as a posing coach and consultant, helping others achieve their goals in the sport.
